Got a Tip?

Watch: 2 Clips From Thomas Vinterberg’s Tense ‘The Hunt’

The HuntThough it won't be hitting screens on this side of the ocean until next year, we can say with certainty there will probably be few films in 2013 that will get under your skin as deeply as Thomas Vinterberg's "The Hunt." The director's lauded return to form won Mads Mikkelsen an award at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance, and indeed, he's great. But the raw drama is one that is definitely a tough watch.

Mikkelsen plays a school teacher whose entire world falls apart when he's falsely accused of molesting a kindergarten age student. These two clips, coming in advance of the U.K. release of the film, show both the initial interview with Klara, the young girl who makes the accusation, and later we see as she tries to take back what she said, but unfortuanately, it has taken root so strongly that no one can believe anything else. Some will find the movie grossly manipulative (as this writer did), however, the story is somewhat about manipulation to begin with. At the insistence of the rest of the team, I'm going to give the movie a second chance, and we definitely recommend you seek it out when it lands near year.

"The Hunt" opens in the U.K. on November 30th. Watch below. [Guardian/The Film Stage]
