So what do we watch now that “Breaking Bad” is over? Well, the good news is that television is going through a bit of renaissance with new, promising shows continuing to arrive like clockwork. And in a couple of months, Frank Darabont—who helped launch the phenomenon “The Walking Dead“—will try to achieve the same success with the gangster world in his new event series, “Mob City.” Two new TV spots have dropped that certainly turn up the heat on our anticipation for this one.
Featuring an ensemble that includes Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Jeremy Strong, Neal McDonough, Milo Ventimiglia, Ron Rifkin, Pihla Viitala, Alexa Davalos and Simon Pegg, the series will center on Joe Teague, an ex-Marine now working as an L.A.P.D. cop in an era rampant with police corruption. This certainly looks stylish, with ambitions that don’t seem to go beyond being a pretty decent bite of period-era pulp, which is just fine by us. As long as it’s some decently written, sharp entertainment, we’ll be giving this a shot.
“Mob City” kicks off on December 4th on TNT. Watch below. [Comme Au Cinema]
