Watch: 5 Clips From Joe Wright’s ‘Anna Karenina’ Starring Keira Knightley & Jude Law

nullOh hey, there you are "Anna Karenina." Since unspooling overseas at the tail end of the summer, and hitting TIFF for its North American bow, word has been very, very quiet on Joe Wright's latest effort. And it's a real shame because the movie is both spectacular and moving, doing justice to the emotion in Leo Tolstoy's tale of doomed love, but giving the material an enjoyably indulgent theatrical treatment. The big word on this movie is that it was shot all on a single soundstage with interconnected sets, and while the artificiality shows through sometimes (intentionally), it never detracts from the story or the epic feel of the movie.

Well, it opens in theaters stateside soon, and five clips have emerged offering up nearly five minutes from the movie. Curiously, they focus less on the film's handful of breathtaking setpieces, and instead strictly on the drama. But they are still every bit worth watching, particularly see Matthew Macfadyen stealing scenes as the hilarious Oblonsky. And then there's Jude Law who gives a great turn as the tortured Alexei Karenin, who see his wife Anna (Keira Knightley) take up with Count Vronsky (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), but tries to save some face in the public eye. And finally, there's Domhnall Gleeson, who gives a tender performance as Levin, who loves with a fierce devotion, but is bruised just as easily.

Take a look at all of them below. "Anna Karenina" opens in limited release on November 16th. [Collider]
