Eagle-eyed readers will know that the much anticipated “Dark Places,” which made our 100 Most Anticipated Films Of 2015 list earlier this year, was already released in France earlier this spring —the film features a starry cast including Charlize Theron, Christina Hendricks, Nicholas Hoult and Chloe Moretz.
Based on the novel by Gillian Flynn (the author and screenwriter behind David Fincher‘s “Gone Girl”), this thriller centers on a woman (Theron) who survived the brutal killing of her family as a child and is forced to confront the events of that day by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes.
Directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner ("Sarah’s Key"), the movie co-stars Drea de Matteo, Corey Stoll and Tye Sheridan. Due in stateside theaters August 7th, the first official U.S. version of the trailer has arrived. But if you want to see the film right now, "Dark Places" is currently available to order on DirecTV.
