So far, we’ve seen a lot of naughty and naked stuff from Lars von Trier‘s two-part sex odyssey “Nymphomaniac,” and as the chapter based previews wind down with the seventh entry (there are eight chapters in the movie total) the latest doesn’t feature anything being penetrated, sucked, pleasured or whipped.
Rather, resembling a scene from “Trainspotting,” we see Charlotte Gainsbourg‘s troubled Joe try to quit sex altogether, cold turkey style. But given the preparation, you’d think she was coming off smack. Here’s the synopsis for this section of the movie:
Chapter 7: The Mirror
The image you see in a mirror will at first glance seem like an exact replica of the object you’re looking at. However, this is in fact false, as the object will always be a mirrored, and thus flawed, version of the original object.
Joe tries to rid herself of her sexuality.
