So today, we’ve shared our thoughts on the new "trend" (if you want to call it that) of TV season reboots, but what about spinoffs? They’ve long been a staple of TV sitcoms, with networks trying to sustain the popularity of shows by creating new series centered on popular characters (ie. "Joey," "Frasier," "Maude"), and now the TV drama is going that route. Perhaps the most significant show along those lines is the "Breaking Bad" offshoot "Better Call Saul." And AMC believes they have a winner.
Originally slated to debut this fall, AMC pushed production back by ordering a full second season before the first season had aired, and rescheduled the show to debut in early 2015. All that is known about the show is that it will be set in 2002, before the events of "Breaking Bad," and focus on the rise of Saul Goodman’s career from sleazy lawyer to sleazy lawyer with a lucrative side business helping out criminals. And as such, we may see characters killed off during "Breaking Bad," still alive in "Better Call Saul."
