If you want to know what it feels like to be a buyer at the Berlin International Film Festival, look no further than "A Perfect Day." It’s a conflict zone comedy boasting a pretty decent cast and a unique comic tone that’s different than most movies set in this milieu. And the first trailer, which is being shown to buyers in Berlin as they decide whether or not to pick it up, provides the first peek at the movie.
Starring Benicio del Toro, Tim Robbins, Olga Kurylenko, and Melanie Thierry, the film follows five aid workers given the simple task of getting a dead body out of a well that’s used for drinking water. But in times of war, even the easiest jobs are needlessly complicated, and as you’ll see events soon tip toward the absurd. Spanish director Fernando León de Aranoa is behind this one, and he seems to have found the right comedic pitch for his film.
