Watch: First Trailer For Michael Moore’s Winning New Film ‘Where To Invade Next’

nullWith his old enemy George W. Bush going into retirement, Michael Moore’s been quiet as of late. Well, not quiet as such, the comic, director and provocateur remains a vocal force in terms of commentary, and on Twitter. But Moore hasn’t made a film since the underwhelming “Capitalism: A Love Story” in 2009, and has all but appeared to have retired from the filmmaking game.

Not so: the line-up for TIFF saw the arrival of a surprise Moore movie, “Where To Invade Next,” his first in six years, and the movie screened last night at the festival to Moore’s warmest reception perhaps since “Bowling For Columbine.” The film sees Moore traveling the world ‘invading’ other countries on behalf of America in order to find how their differing approaches to everything from finance to healthcare to women’s rights could improve the way of life in the U.S, and now you can get a look at the movie itself, with Entertainment Weekly nabbing the first trailer for the film.

Noel Murray’s review for us this morning called the movie Moore’s “best film in over a decade… one that clarifies exactly what his strengths are,” with a “more organized and purposeful approach” that pays dividends to a “persistently stirring” degree. The film doesn’t have a distributor yet, but with the glowing reviews, we imagine that it can’t be long: Paramount, IFC, Lionsgate, Roadside Attractions and Netflix are said to be in the hunt. Take a look at the trailer below.
