Here’s a really surprising bit of trivia: despite horrible reviews, Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart‘s "Get Hard" R-rated comedy earned $90 million at the domestic box office. That’s more than double of the film’s $40 million budget. Warner Bros. is hoping to pad that out as the movie heads to home video, and they’ve decided to get some attention back on the movie.

With the country celebrating the Supreme Court ruling today on gay marriage, the studio dropped a recut version of the "Get Hard" trailer that reshapes it as a romantic comedy, with Ferrell and Hart at the center of the bromance. It’s an interesting piece of marketing, particularly considering more than one critic found the film to have a distasteful, homophobic undercurrent. Let us know what you think.
