While chatter about "Ghostbusters 3" continues to pop up at semi-regular intervals with nothing really happening, now is perhaps the best time to turn back to the one that started it all, the original "Ghosbusters." One of the best comedies of the ’80s, it’s also one of the 20 Best Summer Blockbusters Ever, even in a tentpole-packed 1984, with a theme song that is still an earworm three decades later. And now, it’s coming back to the big screen.
Even though it was actually released on June 8th in 1984, Sony is celebrating the 30th anniversary of "Ghostbusters" by bringing it back to theatres on Labor Day weekend. It’s not always the choicest weekend for releases, but maybe that’s the point, as perhaps audiences will avoid the slim pickings that are generally available and go towards this bonafide hit and crowdpleaser instead. And so, a new trailer is here to hopefully stir your nostalgia, get you in the door, and take one more ride around Manhattan with everyone’s favorite supernatural fighting team. Watch below.
