Watch: Hilarious Trailer For Julie Delpy’s ‘2 Days In New York’ Co-Starring Chris Rock

nullWe just premiered the official U.S. poster last week and now the official U.S. trailer has arrived for Julie Delpy's "2 Days In New York." A direct (though very unlikely) sequel to the rather hysterical "2 Days In Paris" (an awesome examination of neurosis and relationships), "2 Days In New York," picks up with Delpy's anxious and disordered Marion character now living in Manhattan. Having broken up with Adam Goldberg's character in the first film, she now lives with her boyfriend Mingus (Chris Rock) and has a child from her first relationship. It gets much worse when her family from Paris arrives.

Let's let the synopsis take it from here: "When Marion’s jolly father (played by director Delpy’s real-life dad, Albert), her oversexed sister, and her sister’s outrageous boyfriend unceremoniously descend upon them for a visit, it initiates two unforgettable days that will test Marion and Mingus’s relationship. With their unwitting racism and sexual frankness, the French triumvirate hilariously has no boundaries or filters…and no person is left unscathed in its wake." While "2 Days In Paris" centered on early-30s romance (read: the same issues as 20-somethings), 'New York' seems as if it's dealing with a decidely more mature subject matter and the concerns and worries of reaching the big 4-0.

Our review from Sundance is a thumbs up and our EIC loves it, so this writer is sold. Opening in theaters August 10, 2012, the film will arrive early on VOD on July 6th via Magnolia Pictures.
