Watch: Honest Trailer For ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ Takes On James Cameron’s Blockbuster

Terminator 2: Judgment DayTerminator: Genisys” comes out in theaters just one week from now, and while many will be eager to see the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his most famous role, surely there’s a sizable faction of fans who wished they’d just stopped after “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” James Cameron’s follow-up came seven years after the first film and it subsequently took the world by storm during its initial theatrical run. It would also prove to be the visionary director’s final entry in the franchise. Twenty-four years later, both “The Terminator” and its sequel are still very much beloved today, while the last two films? Eh, not so much. On that note, ‘Terminator 2’ just so happens to be the subject of the latest “Honest Trailer” episode from Screen Junkies, but before you passionate Terminator fans start to fret, there’s nothing to worry about here. It’s really just some light-hearted ribbing.

Among other things, the trailer pokes fun at Edward Furlong’s disappointing career following the film, the movie’s confusing time-travel storyline, and it brings up a very good point about how the movie’s initial trailer completely gave away the fact that Arnie turned out to be the good guy. This is a lesson Paramount did not learn in the wake of the “Terminator: Genisys” trailer, which makes a very similar mistake regarding Jason Clarke’s character.

It’s a very funny “honest trailer” that, if anything, serves as a tribute to the 1991 film. Check it out below.
