"Jurassic World" brings prehistoric mayhem to cinemas this weekend, and in case you haven’t already been able to tell by the relentless marketing campaign, Universal would prefer that you forget about those other "Jurassic Park" sequels. Indeed, this new movie features director Colin Trevorrow following up Steven Spielberg‘s original —the legendary director has endorsed this version with gusto. As this new Honest Trailer points out, perhaps there’s a reason Spielberg wants you to forget he directed a followup: "The Lost World: Jurassic Park."

Arriving four years after the original, ‘The Lost World’ seemed to lose the spark that made the first movie so special. It got bigger but also broader, and became an ordinary tentpole, instead of the kind of unique spectacle we’ve come to expect from the granddaddy of giant summer movies. Let’s hope the lessons from this have been learned when "Jurassic World" arrives in just a few days. Watch below.
