These days, Kat Dennings can mostly be found getting sassy each week on the sitcom "2 Broke Girls," but the movie world always offer a chance to stretch the acting muscles a bit. And the actress is tackles some darker material with a healing heart in "To Write Love On Her Arms," and the film’s first trailer has arrived.
The movie tracks the story of 19 year-old Renee whose personal battle with addiction and depression leads to the founding of a real life charity group that helps others dealing with and trying to cope with similar problems. Here’s the official synopsis:
The story follows 19-year-old Renee (played by Kat Dennings) who has always loved fairy tales: the idea of a princess, a hero and a happily ever after. But Reneeʼs life is that of a darker tale: sheʼs a young woman battling addiction, depression and self-injury. In a creative blend of artistic fantasy balanced with harsh reality, the movie follows Renee on her courageous journey towards recovery.
This looks very well-meaning, if a soft, safe and geared to sell CD soundtracks. "To Write Love On Her Arms" opens in March. Watch below.
