What is both a right of passage for every American teenager and a near-perfect high school or college film plot device? A house party (duh). A new supercut puts together of some of the best movie house parties to rock the neighborhood, as well as other throw downs, complete with a killer soundtrack. So fill a solo cup and waterfall, bro, it’s montage time!
Elvis Costello starts to “Pump it Up” as the montage begins with the parents heading out of town. Of course, the kids always swear (from “Risky Business” to “Weird Science”) there is absolutely no party on the horizon. Or, in the case of the “21 Jump Street” reboot, the “kids” swear to their boss. But everyone knows the truth. The party is on.
Did someone say toga party? John Blutarsky did in “Animal House” (played by genuine—and sadly missed—party animal, John Belushi). Can you feel your legs? Not if you party too hard in “Can’t Hardly Wait.”
These parties have body shots, booty shots, and more motorcycles blasting through living rooms than you might expect. McLovin’ does some dancing, and Ted the bear does some drugs. Frank goes nuts in “Old School,” and the “American Pie” band nerds turn out to cut loose.
The soundtrack includes "Teqkilla" by M.I.A., "Here I Come" by The Roots, and "It’s Party Time" by The Mattoid.
