So, "The Avengers" had it's world premiere last week, and has since had a screenings for fans and press and everyone in between and the general consensus is that it rocks. Even among the nearly half dozen Playlist folk who've seen the film, word has been very positive. But as for this writer….I still can't get over the overblown dialogue and almost comically serious tone in these clips.
The latest has Tom Hiddleston aka Loki and Samuel L. Jackson aka Nick Fury (wearing a Bluetooth earpiece?) talking to each other and explaining in some very heavy-handed dialogue how they feel about each other. And in case you haven't guessed, they don't like each other. Meanwhile, the rest of the Avengers look on from their high tech workstations. This is like the Marvel equivalent of "The I.T. Crowd" (or something). All this said, of all the villains in the Marvel movies, Hiddleston has been the most fun since he's striking the right tone between reverence and being aware he's in a comic book movie. Anyway, "The Avengers" opens on May 4th. Watch below.
