With “Iron Man 3” closing in on $1.2 billion worldwide and “Man Of Steel” taking flight this weekend with dollar signs in its eyes, can “The Wolverine” be the same super-sized hit? Gauging anticipation is a fool’s errand, but it’s probably safe to say excitement is trailing behind those other two movies. But then again, 20th Century Fox really knows how to turn on the marketing juice so prepare for much more over the next six weeks.
Until then, a brand new international trailer has dropped for comic movie, with enough new footage to make it interesting. Taking a bigger role than ever is Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova) and we get a bit more Silver Samurai as well. The only stumbling block in our eyes is perhaps the special effects, with the green screen in particular sorta making its presence known in a not so pleasant manner. With many complaining about the dour “Man Of Steel,” will audiences take to a brooding Logan?
We’ll find out on July 26th.
