He won’t have his buddies in The Avengers by his side, or CGI spectacle to carry him, so for the upcoming dramedy "The Judge," Robert Downey Jr. will have to rely on his quick wit, and the kind of acting chops we don’t see from the actor when he’s out saving the world. Instead, he’ll have to save Robert Duvall.
A new trailer has dropped for the TIFF Opening Film, and it mostly avoids the funny stuff in order to focus on the uplifting and rousing moments instead. Co-starring Vera Farmiga, Vincent D’Onofrio, Billy Bob Thornton and Leighton Meester, the movie tells the story of a slick, big city defense lawyer with daddy issues, who returns to his hometown to defend that aforementioned parent from a murder charge. Cue feelings! Cue indie rock songs! Cue emotions! Yes, this is pretty manipulative, old school stuff.
"The Judge" opens on October 10th. Watch below.
