Watch: New Trailer For 'The Three Musketeers' Still Claims It's Based On The Novel

With flying airships, Alice from “Resident Evil” and Navy SEALS (or their 17th century equivalent) appearing in this newest trailer for “The Three Musketeers,” we find it pretty amazing that the filmmakers are still holding to the idea that this is actually based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas.

The film stars Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple, Christoph Waltz and a pretty drunk looking Orlando Bloom, who seems to have had more than one belt of scotch before shooting each scene. Despite all the bombast and hoopla, all we took away from this trailer as far as the story goes is that Milla Jovovich is the baddie who has to be stopped for some reason and that will involve lots and lots of explosions and slow motion. Sounds like a Michael Bay movie we just watched, but actually this is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, which shouldn’t be all that surprising.

“The Three Musketeers” will arrive in life-changing 3D on October 14th. Touch your tips and watch the trailer below. [via FirstShowing]
