Watch: One Final Dusty, Awesome Three Minute Clip Arrives For ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’

nullWe're now only a couple of days away from the IMAX opening of "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol," and the film, the fourth in the previously tired franchise, has mostly lived up to the expectations set by the hiring of Pixar veteran Brad Bird as director, with the critical consensus, for the most part, being that the film's the best in the series, and one of the best action films of 2011 (although our own review didn't go quite as far…).

You'll be able to find out for yourself if it lives up to the plaudits on Friday (with of course, that six-minute "The Dark Knight Rises" prologue beforehand if you see it in IMAX), with the film going wider next Wednesday, but Paramount have sent out one last thing to convince you: a generous three-minute action sequence. The scene features Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt pursuing a villain of some kind through Dubai. Pretty rote, right? Well, except this time, the Cruise is doing it through a sandstorm.

The scene is tense stuff, immaculately shot, cut and scored, and bodes very well for the film indeed. "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" hits IMAX as of 00.00 on Friday, where those at the midnight screenings will be able to pick up one of the natty minimalist posters found below, designed by artist Matt Owen (courtesy of IGN).
