Watch: Red Band TV Spot For ‘Young Adult’ Promises A Damn Entertaining Performance From Charlize Theron

nullAfter turning his back on his usual fall festival unveilings which worked so well for him with his first three films, Jason Reitman is set to finally unleash "Young Adult" on the world next week and we, for one, can't wait. Whetting our appetities now though, is the release of a red band TV spot which seemingly provides a little more insight into the twisted mind of Charlize Theron's protagonist, Mavis Gary.

Theron's performance is certainly promising to be one of the most entertaining this year as she portrays a young adult fiction writer who returns to small-town Minnesota where she grew up, looking to rekindle a romance with her ex-boyfriend, who is now married with kids. And, most importantly, doesn't this film just look like it's going to be a fun time? Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser, J.K. Simmons, Collette Wolfe all co-star alongside Patton Oswalt, who has been garnering some small award season talk for his performance as an old schoolmate of Mavis'.

Also, surprisingly buried underneath a lot of Reitman/Theron hype for the film is the fact it'll be Diablo Cody's first cinematic venture since "Jennifer's Body," which will be followed relatively soon after by her directorial debut "Lamb Of God" starring Russell Brand and Julianne Hough. Judging from the clip below, we're in for a treat; the film opens in limited release on December 9th before going wide a week later.
