A police officer and a prisoner on the run in Texas: there’s your the premise for Warner Bros. comedy “Hot Pursuit.” Directed by Anne Fletcher ("The Proposal," "27 Dresses"), “Hot Pursuit” pairs Reese Witherspoon with Sofia Vergara. While Witherspoon has revitalized her career with the Academy Award-nominated for “Wild,” she’s obviously not afraid to be in a big studio comedy.
The official log-line doesn’t provide many deeper details, but here they are: An uptight, by-the-book cop (Witherspoon, whose production company is named Type A) tries to protect the sexy and outgoing widow (Vergara) of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.
