Watch: Steve Coogan & Rob Brydon Hit The Road In New Teaser For 'The Trip To Italy'

The Trip to Italy

There were few greater comedic pleasures in the last few years than spending time with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as they drove around the English countryside, trading barbs, jokes, impressions and eating a string of fabulous meals. Playing heightened versions of themselves in Michael Winterbottom‘s “The Trip,” the pair dished one liners fast and hard over 107 minutes, but that was only part of the story. In the U.K. audiences got the longer version on television, with “The Trip” spread over six, thirty-minute episodes. And for the followup, “The Trip To Italy,” the same thing is happening once again.

Hitting BBC Two soon, a new teaser has dropped giving a peek at what Coogan and Brydon will be up to this time around, when their travels take them Italy. And for both, life changes have tweaked the dynamic. According to the logline: Rob, tired from the responsibilities of being the father of a young child, is looking for some adventure. Steve has been living a life of abstinence and hard work in Los Angeles but, now on a hiatus from his job, has the time to come back to Europe and wants to see his children.

“The Trip To Italy” will kick off in April. Watch the teaser below. The theatrical version will be released by IFC Films later this year.
