Watch: Three Clips From ‘I Origins’ Plus New Images From Sundance Award Winner

I OriginsThe summer movie season usually requires you to turn off your brain and submit your mind and body to the punishing assault of razzle dazzle in one empty headed movie after another. But if you dig a bit further, you can find films that will provide both intellectual sustenance and genuine entertainment. And one you’ll want to keep an eye out for is "I Origins."

The film is the latest collaboration between "Another Earth" team, director Mike Cahill and actress Brit Marling. This time around, Cahill writes and helms the film, with Marling co-starring (she co-wrote "Another Earth"), while Michael Pitt leads the movie about a molecular biologist who makes a discovery that could everything we know about humanity. It’s a movie that we called "a fascinating examination of belief, spirituality and otherworldliness through the skeptical lens of science," and certainly a big leap forward for Cahill, whose film won the Alfred P. Sloan Award at the Sundance Film Festival.

"I Origins" opens on July 18th. Check out the clip below which gives a nice taste of the film along with a batch of new images.
