Got a Tip?

Watch: Trailer For Jean Dujardin’s 2004 Heist Flick ‘Le Convoyeur’ That’s Getting A Hollywood Remake

nullBelieve it or not, before he swept the cinema world off its feet with his turn in "The Artist," Jean Dujardin made other movies, and he was perhaps best known as the lead in the spy spoof 'OSS 117' flicks. But it seems producer Joel Silver has been using that new all region DVD player he got on Black Friday, as he's set to remake "Le Convoyeur," a 2004 heist flick starring Dujardin.

Let's face it, Dujardin's name has little to do with why this is being remade (though it probably helps put an extra shine to it). Hollywood wants stuff they can easily translate and looks like easy box office, and this trailer for "Le Convoyeur" reveals it's exactly that: an action thriller with a sympathetic lead that looks like something Mark Wahlberg would release in Febraury. Anyway, the story centers on a father whose son accidentally gets killed as an innocent bystander during an armored car robbery. Suspecting an inside job, the father takes a job with the same company to get his revenge (man, HR really failed on that background check).

This project has been kicking around for a while with Andrew Kevin Walker ("Se7en") and David Ayer ("Training Day," "End of Watch") having penned drafts in the past. Now Silver Pictures will try to make it happen and are currently seeking a new scribe to take the film, which is now called "Cash Truck" (LOL). Anyway, maybe someone will drop a version of this movie with English subtitles on home video already? We're kind of curious. Watch below. [THR]
