Got a Tip?

Watch: Trailer For Todd Phillips Produced ‘Project X’ Promises One Big Out Of Control Party

There’s no rest for the wicked. After watching “The Hangover Part II” cross $580 million worldwide and become of the biggest hits of the summer, Todd Phillips got right back to work and while he’s not directing this, it has his trademark stamp of shit going horribly, horribly awry all over it.

Project X” finds Phillips and Joel Silver producing the low budget ($12 million) comedy and the trailer finds it essentially playing like a teenage version of “The Hangover.” Which isn’t a bad thing. Directed by commercial helmer Nima Nourizadeh, and boasting a cast of unknowns, this one fully embraces it’s R-rating, using the found footage aesthetic to tell a story that starts off as boozing, ass baring fun but seems to end with fire and cars crashing into swimming pools. There is a palpable set of urgency here and we have to say, we were pretty hooked even with the paper thin premise. It anyone knows partying, it’s Phillips, and the raw look actually more accurately captures the hazy memories these kind of bashes leave you with.

Anyway, give a whirl yourself below or in HD at Apple. “Project X” gets the party started on March 2nd and in you case you’re wondering, the music in the trailer is Kid Cudi “Pursuit Of Happiness (Steve Aoki Remix).”
