It’s heartening that in a pop culture world where Nicki Minaj gets millions upon millions of views mostly with respect to her ample posterior, there’s still room for Weird Al Yankovic (and we hope he eventually does a cover of "Anaconda"). The premiere song parodist dropped his latest album Mandatory Fun a few months back, and for the first time in his career, it reached number one on the charts. People still love Weird Al, and last night he did his thing at the Emmy Awards.
Weird Al took the stage —with a little help from Andy Samberg— and tore through a comedic medley of TV theme songs from "Mad Men," "Homeland," "Modern Family," "Scandal" and "Game of Thrones." Is it the best thing Weird Al has done? No. But it’s totally in his wheelhouse. Check it out below. [Vulture]
