Watch: Will Ferrell Punches A Baby In The Trailer For ‘The Campaign’ With Zach Galifianakis

nullIn some ways, it looks like Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are doing some recycling for "The Campaign." The former has essentially tweaked his George W. Bush while the latter has done the same with his alter ego "brother" Seth and the result is…well, not exactly as hilarious as we might have hoped. But there are enough amusing moments in the first trailer that may least point to a decent matinee diversion.

The comic duo star as two politicians — Ferrell's Cam a seasoned veteran, Galifianakis' Marty a newbie on the scene — who square off in a North Carolina election for Congress. Cam Brady is your stereotypical politician with perfect hair who says all the right things to get elected. Meanwhile, Marty is a bit more of a loose cannon and his unorthodox approach clearly throws Cam off. While the trailer ends on a baby-punching high note (we laughed pretty hard) everything else seems a bit toothless. Didn't we already see someone getting shot in the leg with a crossbow in "The Five-Year Engagement" trailer? Why does Zach Galifianakis need to have a small dog in every movie?

Anyway, we'll see how this all shakes out when the votes are counted on August 10th. Watch below.
