The EDM generation is upon us, which means they are now getting the movie for their times. Like "Saturday Night Fever" in the ’70s, and "Singles" and "Reality Bites" in the ’90s, Hollywood is hoping to capture a zeitgeist. And today, the first trailer for "We Are Your Friends" has arrived to pump up the jams.
Pretty people Zac Efron and Emily Ratajkowski star in this one about a young man in his early twenties who wants to be the next great record producer, and falls under the wing of DJ scene veteran. But of course, as the music gets louder, so does life’s complications. "There is a gritty, realistic, almost documentary style at times," director Max Joseph told USA Today. "But when the music comes in, the film kind of lifts off and goes into this colorful, exciting world with fun visuals. It’s almost like a musical at times."
