With lineups that has included so far Terry Gilliam and Arcade Fire, Todd Haynes and My Morning Jacket, David Lynch and Duran Duran, Anton Corbijn and Coldplay and many more, the American Express’ Unstaged concert series hasn't been lacking in inspired pairings. And this may be the best and oddest one yet.
It's been a busy day for Herzog, whose latest documentary series "Hate In America" was announced this morning, and now it has been revealed he will direct The Killers concert webcast next month. Huh. It's another left field turn for Herzog, who will next be seen on the big screen as the villain in Tom Cruise's holiday blockbuster "Jack Reacher." Lord knows what Herzog has up his sleeve for this, but we can only hope he has something really fucking cool planned for whenever Brandon Flowers sings "Are we human, or are we dancer" which sounds like something the director himself would have said.
The concert will air live on YouTube on September 18th at 7 PM. Check out the trailer for it below. [The Film Stage]
