As seen in the trailer for “When Evil Lurks,” the film follows the story of a small town that discovers a demon is about to be born in their midst. They do everything to escape, but now, it might already be too late. That’s a creepy premise, without a doubt, but it’s compounded by the imagery you see in the trailer, featuring evil goats, bloated corpses, and deformed bodies. This is a film that isn’t for the faint of heart.
The cast includes Ezequiel Rodríguez, Demián Salomón, Silvina Sabater, Virginia Garofalo, Paula Rubinsztein, and Luis Dziembrowski. “When Evil Lurks” is written and directed by up-and-coming Argentine horror maestro Demián Rugna and debuted at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Though it doesn’t have many reviews, since it was only seen at a festival just recently, it currently has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. So, if you’re looking for something spooky to watch this Halloween season, IFC and Shudder have you covered.
“When Evil Lurks” will arrive in select theaters on October 6 before it eventually lands on Shudder on October 27. You can watch the trailer below.
