‘Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics And Men’ Trailer: Showtime Doc Examines The Creation Of One Of Rap’s Most Influential Groups

If you grew up listening to rap in the ‘90s, there’s no doubt you are familiar with the Wu-Tang Clan. Now, Showtime would like to tell the true story of the group’s rise to prominence in a new documentary.

In the first trailer for “Wu-Tang Clan: of Mics and Men,” we see that the documentary is broken up into 4 parts and will tell the complete history of one of rap’s most famous groups. Coming from nothing in New York City, Method Man, RZA, GZA, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and the rest quickly made a name for themselves in the hip-hop community. Years later, with individual members of Wu-Tang going on to become some of the biggest names in rap, the group now comes together to tell their story.

‘Of Mics and Men’ comes from director Sacha Jenkins, who is probably best known as the creative director of Mass Appeal magazine, but he’s directed films including “Fresh Dressed,” “Word is Bond,” and “Burn Motherfucker, Burn!

“Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men” will get a special presentation at this year’s Sundance Film Festival before premiering on Showtime in the spring.

Here’s the synopsis for the 4-part series:
