Considering every actor who signs in blood for a Marvel is usually optioned for numerous flicks, this bit of news hardly comes as a surprise, though it is interesting to note how much the stature of Kat Dennings has changed in just a short year.
The actress, who played Natalie Portman's quip-tacular best bud Darcy Lewis in "Thor" will reprise her role in the sequel, "Thor: The Dark World." When the first film came out last summer, Dennings was still an indie darling, at the time best known for sounding like a tea kettle in "The 40 Year-Old Virgin" and popping up in movies like "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist," "Charlie Bartlett" and "Defendor." But now, she's a big sitcom star thanks to "2 Broke Girls" and, as a result, we wouldn't be surprised if her role is punched up a bit to reflect that. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Alan Taylor directs 'The Dark World' and it will land in theaters on November 8, 2013. [Deadline]
