'La La Land' Ties Record With 14 Oscar Nominations

It’s time for the Oscar nominations, or as they’re known this year, “La La Land” Day. The musical was expected to scoop up a slew of nominations, but it really did a number on the Academy Awards this year (sorry).

The Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone starring musical earned a staggering 14 nominations, tying “Titanic” and “All About Eve” for most nods. Coming in strong behind were the sci-fi “Arrival” and “Moonlight,” each earning 8 nominations, with “Manchester By The Sea” landing 6 nods. In the category of WTF honors, the tech categories saw “Deepwater Horizon” earn two nominations, with “13 Hours: The Secret Soliders Of Benghazi” also scoring a nod.

And for you superhero fans, despite awards season heat, “Deadpool” was shut out, but “Doctor Strange” and “Suicide Squad” both got nominated.

The Oscars will be handed out on February 26th. Full list of nominations below.
