While it might seem profoundly obvious that the villain of “Suicide Squad,” who had her heart crushed, wouldn’t return for any sequels, we all know that in superhero movies, no one is every really dead. So, it wouldn’t be totally outrageous for DC Films to keep Cara Delevingne‘s Enchantress in the Rolodex for the sequel or for some other kind of appearance. However, according to the model/actress, her days playing in the DCEU sandbox are over.
USA Today asked Delevingne directly if she might return for “Suicide Squad 2,” but it’s not in the cards.
“It was a life-changing experience, and of course I’d do another one, but I don’t think it would make sense for the character,” she said. “I’ll probably still be on the set hanging out with everyone.”
Again, this all makes total sense and is not a big surprise. The film, which is expected to be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (“Orphan,” “Run All Night“) is aiming for a shoot next summer, while the release date remains undetermined. So, expect the whole squad back, except for the villain which was killed in the previous movie. Sounds about right.
