Daniel Craig Is Back As James Bond

Yesterday came the surprising news that the next installment in the James Bond franchise had been put on the calendar for 2019. However, the big question remained whether or not Daniel Craig would reprise his role as 007, particularly after a particularly grumpy press tour for “Spectre,” where it seemed he’d rather do anything else than play the iconic character again. Well, now we know.

The New York Times reveals that Craig is set to reprise his role as James Bond, and once again drink his martinis shaken, not stirred. Even more, Bond franchise standbys, screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have penned the last six installments, are back to write the next chapter in the adventure. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t more questions waiting to be answered.

We’re waiting to find out who will direct the picture. Sam Mendes won’t be returning after “Skyfall” and “Spectre,” which leaves the door wide open. Might we humbly suggest Steven Soderbergh? The director has already been approached twice in the past for the gig, and he did just come off working with Craig in the upcoming heist comedy, “Logan Lucky.” It could be a pretty inspired pairing.

We’ll find out soon enough as the untitled, next James Bond opens on November 8, 2019.
