Earlier this month, “Wolf Creek” director Greg Mclean pitted a bunch of office workers against each other in the bloody “The Belko Experiment,” but now he’s returning to his bread and butter — survival thrills set against an inhospitable backdrop.
Daniel Radcliffe leads “Jungle,” the new film that’s based on the book by Yossi Ghinsberg, and tells the true story of a young man whose journey into the Amazon goes sideways. So…”The Lost City Of Harry Potter”? Here’s the synopsis:
JUNGLE tells the story of Yossi Ghinsberg, an enthusiastic young adventurer following his dreams, who heads into the Amazon jungle with two friends and a guide with a mysterious past. Their journey turns into a terrifying psychological ordeal and fight for survival as the darkest elements of human nature and the deadliest threats of the wilderness emerge to test their endurance.
This looks like a sales trailer so don’t judge it too harshly, and the film has yet to premiere, though I’d put my money on a Midnight slot at TIFF or Fantastic Fest as a likely place to bow. [Cine Maldito]
