Hugh Jackman Says He's "Hesitating" On Retiring Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds Still Wants A Team-Up Movie With Deadpool

In case you were still in a holiday-season coma last week, you missed one of the dorkiest fanboy flareups of 2016. News emerged that Ryan Reynolds had shot a cameo scene for “Logan,” most likely for a post-credits sequence, leading to a war of words and denials from the actor himself, director James Mangold and Hugh Jackman against the trade who first dropped the story, and still stand by it. Reynolds further went on to explain why Deadpool wouldn’t work in the context of the serious-toned “Logan,” but don’t think he’s given up on his dream of a Deadpool/Wolverine movie.

In a new profile in Variety, Reynolds again stresses he wants to see the two heroes team up. “I have no
idea if I can change his mind,” the actor said, referencing Hugh Jackman’s repeated stance that “Logan” will be his final turn as Wolverine.
“It’s the audience: I would exclusively exploit that relationship to get Hugh back for another one.”

But it looks like Jackman is feeling the pressure, and he may not hang up the claws after all.

“I’m hesitating because I could totally see how that’s the perfect fit. But the timing may
be wrong,” the actor said, once again keeping hope alive for fans. But whether or not he truly lets the Marvel character go, Reynolds says there are plenty of other Deadpool movies cooking if the one with Wolverine doesn’t pan out.

“I would love to play Deadpool for as long as they would let me play Deadpool,” Reynolds said. “We have outlines and stories for a number of different films.”

Let the speculation continue…..

“Logan” opens on March 3rd.
