Michael Fassbender Now Eyed To Play Steve Jobs In Danny Boyle's 'Jobs'

The Counselor, FassbenderUpdate 11/25: THR reports that Michael Fassbender is now attached to play Steve Jobs.

First Leonardo DiCaprio was vaguely attached, and then Christian Bale looked more serious until he dropped out, and now another big name is being tossed around as a contender to play Steve Jobs.

Deadline reports that Michael Fassbender is being eyed for the lead in Danny Boyle‘s "Jobs," while Variety says he’s in "early talks," so pick whichever one you like. Either way, he’s not the most obvious choice to play the Apple co-founder, but it does offer the actor the chance to a) try his hand at Aaron Sorkin scripted material and b) to try to capture the look and mannerisms of the late Jobs.

The drama will pivot around a triptych focusing on the Mac, NeXT and iPod product launches, in 1984, 1997 and 2001 respectively. Sony wants this project shooting this winter.
