Powerful 6-Minute Clip From Andrew Dominik's Nick Cave Documentary ‘One More Time With Feeling’

With the news that Andrew Dominik is finally going to be making his Marilyn Monroe flick “Blonde” arriving this week, we were a bit distracted from his upcoming Nick Cave documentary, “One More Time With Feeling.” But this extensive, hair-raising and powerful six-minute clip from the film got our attention fully restored for the movie (which features sequences in 3D), which looks like it won’t be a talking-heads look at the artist.

A blend of live performances, interviews, improvisation, narration, color and black-and-white photography, the documentary instead looks to be an impressionistic chronicle of the making of “Skeleton Tree,” the new album from Cave’s band, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. And even this clip, which in ordinary hands would be your standard band-in-the-studio-recording scene, carries with it some serious gravitas, not just because it’s Nick Cave in the studio, but because of Dominik’s stark approach.

“One More Time With Feeling” has its World Premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and will screen in cinemas worldwide on September 8th.
