Don’t worry, this isn’t a post about the various alternate endings and ditched plot details of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Instead, it’s a look at the film through the lens of the original trilogy that clearly inspired director Gareth Edwards‘ visual approach to the spinoff.
Zackery Ramos-Taylor has pulled together a supercut comparing shots from ‘Rogue One’ to sequences across the first three “Star Wars” movies, and there’s a good reason you really feel the nostalgic pull of these films. The visual grammar does much of the heavy lifting in connecting you to the adventures taking place in a galaxy far, far away.
