'Takes One To Know One': Olivia Cooke & Jamie Bell To Star In Upcoming Italy-Set Romance

It’s already been a busy week for the upcoming Cannes film market, with new films from Julia Ducournau, Romain Gavras, and Panos Cosmatos entering the fray. But what about something lighter than those three, which, considering their directors, will all be audacious in their own ways? “Takes One To Know One” may fit the bill there, as Deadline reports that CAA Media Finance and Cornerstone have the upcoming romance ready for sales on the Croisette once the Cannes Film Festival gets underway in eleven days.

Olivia Cooke and Jamie Bell will star in Nathalie Biancheri‘s latest, about two tourists who meet cute in Rome and realize they’re falling in love. The only problem? They’re both already in respective relationships. “Pam & Tommy” scribe Brooke Baker pens the script, with Bniacheri looking to start shooting in Italy in late 2024. Cornerstone will handle international rights at Cannes sales and co-rep US ones with CAA.

Producers on “Takes One To Know One” include Gail EganClaude Dal FarraBrian Keady, and Cooke. Executive producers include Josh GlickBrad Feinstein, and Baker.  PotboilerBCDF Pictures, and Chippy Tea Productions finance the film.

“Takes One To Know One” will be Cooke’s first film since “The Good Mother,” which makes sense since the actress is busy with HBO‘s “House Of The Dragon.” As for Bell, he’s fresh off of “All Of Us Strangers” and “Surrounded” from last year and plays Fred Astaire in the upcoming biopic “Fred & Ginger.”

What else will hit the Cannes film market before the festival gets underway on May 14? Stay tuned to find out.
