Maybe it’s been so long since I’ve been in high school that I’ve forgotten how dramatic that period of life actually was, but after watching the new trailer for Season 4 of “13 Reasons Why,” I am reminded that my time as a teen wasn’t nearly as harrowing as the cast of characters in the Netflix drama. And I’m beyond thankful because these kids have it rough.
The controversial Netflix series returns next month for its fourth and final season, giving the story of the kids of Liberty High a conclusion that seems to be even more dramatic (and potentially violent) than people might be expecting. Sure, the series kicked off with a suicide and then ventured off into murder, but it feels like “13 Reasons Why” is concluding its run by throwing just about everything it can at the kids, pushing them to their potential breaking point. But really, after a few dozen episodes, do you expect anything else from this melodrama?
The series’ ensemble cast includes Dylan Minnette, Alisha Boe, Brandon Flynn, Miles Heizer, Grace Saif, Christian Navarro, Ross Butler, Devin Druid, Timothy Granaderos, Anne Winters, Deaken Bluman, Tyler Barnhardt, Austin Aaron, Inde Navarrette, RJ Brown, Steven Weber, Brenda Strong, Amy Hargreaves, Josh Hamilton, Mark Pellegrino, and Jan Luis Castellanos.
The final season of “13 Reasons Why” debuts on Netflix on June 5.
Here’s the synopsis:
