“Wish”
Walt Disney Animation Studios has brought together an enormous cast for its latest, “Wish.” Directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn and written by Jennifer Lee and Allison Moore, the film stars the voices of Ariana DeBose, Chris Pine, Alan Tudyk, Victor Garber, Harvey Guillén, and more. The story follows a 17-year-old girl whose plea to the stars regarding the threat of her kingdom’s ruler leads to an actual Star helping her face the evils she spoke of.

“Napoleon”
Director Ridley Scott is unstoppable, returning with his latest film, “Napoleon” starring Joaquin Phoenix. The two-and-a-half-hour film tracks Napoleon’s origins and his climb to emperor through the eyes of his wife, Joséphine (Vanessa Kirby.) The film, written by David Scarpa, stars Tahar Rahim, Ben Miles, Matthew Needham, Rupert Everett, and more in supporting roles.

“Maestro”
Following his directorial debut with “A Star Is Born,” Bradley Cooper arrives with “Maestro” both as director and star. In this biographical drama, Cooper plays American conductor Leonard Bernstein as the story follows him as he falls in love with Costa Rican actress Felicia Montealegre, played by Carey Mulligan. Cooper co-wrote the film with Josh Singer, and the film is produced by big names such as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, and Sarah Silverman also star.

“Saltburn”
“Promising Young Woman” writer and director Emerald Fennell returns with the Barry Keoghan-led “Saltburn.” Keoghan plays a student who is invited to an eccentric classmate’s estate for a summer. Jacob Elordi plays the classmate in question whose charisma entices Keoghan’s student. Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, and Archie Madekwe also star.

“Monster”
As one of today’s most exciting directors, any film by filmmaker Hirokazu Koreeda is a must-watch. This is true too for his latest, “Monster,” with music composed by the late, great Ryuichi Sakamoto. The film follows a mother who begins to realize her young son has been behaving strangely and learns that his teacher is responsible. Sakura Andō, Eita Nagayama, and Sōya Kurokawa star with a screenplay from Yuji Sakamoto.
