“Till”
Critically acclaimed for her arresting 2019 movie “Clemency,” which gave her the overdue distinction of being the first black woman to win the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, filmmaker Chinonye Chukwu returns with “Till,” the tragic story of Emmett Till, his horrific and brutal lynching, his mother, an activist who never stopped pursuing justice for her son, and the civil rights movement. Starring Danielle Deadwyler as Mamie Till and Jalyn Hall as Emmett Till, alongside Frankie Faison, Haley Bennett, and Whoopi Goldberg, by all accounts, it is challenging subject material, but the film is said to be terrific, and Deadwyler is a breakout star (read our review).
Release Date: October 14 via United Artists Releasing.
