'Megalopolis': Chloe Fineman, Dustin Hoffman & More Join Stacked Cast In Francis Ford Coppola's New Film

Francis Ford Coppola is betting big with his upcoming film, “Megalopolis.” Not only is the film going to cost a reported $100 to produce, but the filmmaker is actually footing most of the bill himself. So, to help bring his passion project to life, he continues to add to his already massive cast.

According to Deadline, Coppola has brought on Chloe Fineman, Isabelle Kusman, D.B. Sweeney, Bailey Ives, and Dustin Hoffman to round out his cast for the upcoming drama, “Megalopolis.” These actors join an already-stacked cast that includes Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman, Grace Vanderwaal, Kathryn Hunter, and James Remar.

“Megalopolis” has been a project that Coppola has been trying to get off the ground for more than 20 years. The film is expected to tackle a lot of socio-political issues of today by showcasing an alternate reality where society is beginning to crumble.

The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius and dangerous love.

No release date has been announced for “Megalopolis.” Though, it should be said that a release date is impossible without distribution, and since Coppola is producing this big-budget drama independently, we don’t know which studio might team up with him down the line to release the film.

That said, we know the film is expected to begin production this fall in Georgia. So, if that’s any indication, we could be looking at a late-2023 release perhaps.
