As noted by Reuters, 50 Cent is a super-successful multi-hyphenate and pretty much a mogul, even though deep down he’s still a thug.
Well now he’s launching a film production company called Cheetah Vision and with typical humility, the rapper says the economic crisis currently facing the United States won’t be affecting his game.
“I don’t think it will affect me as much as it will the other people that are out there because I’m not afraid to finance some of these things myself if I have to,” he humbly intoned.
Apparently CV has already bought eight scripts, the first of which will go into production is a film called, “The Dance,” that will star Fifty and actor Nicolas Cage [ed. a match made in cinema heaven?]
“[The script] was previously passed around a little bit but both me and Nicolas Cage had an interest in the film so it will still happen. He plays the founder of a boxing program, and I play a fighter who goes to state prison,” Mr. Cent explained about the project.
The rapper also made his debut as a director this year, giving away his feature film, “Before I Self Destruct,” free with his latest album of the same name, which is due to be released in late March. Later this year, 50’s amazing acting skills will be showcase in “Streets of Blood” with Val Kilmer and Sharon Stone, and filming on “13” with Mickey Rourke is due to start soon. Those two should make quite a pair and naturally will become fast friends we’re sure.
