New Pics Of Matthew McConaughey & Reese Witherspoon In 'Mud' Plus French Poster

nullSo, where are we in the Matthew McConaughey renaissance? Well, we’ve seen the man turn the tide of public perception and expectation so far in Richard Linklater‘s “Bernie,” William Friedkin‘s “Killer Joe,” Lee Daniels‘ “The Paperboy” and Steven Soderbergh‘s “Magic Mike.” Up next is the AIDS drama “The Dallas Buyer’s Club,” and if all goes well, Christopher Nolan‘s “Interstellar.” But before both of those, McConaughey has yet another unique indie on the way.

Take Shelter” director Jeff Nichols‘ “Mud” is finally gearing up for release after premiering last spring at the Cannes Film Festival, and a batch of new images are here to provide another look at the Southern Gothic/fairytale movie. The story itself is simple, centering on two boys — Ellis and Neckbone — who cross paths with the titular Mud, who spins wild tales and enlists them to help him reunite with his sweetheart Juniper. It’s another little gear shift from Nichols, but an intriguing one that seems like a good yarn to take in this spring.

“Mud” opens on April 26th in limited release. Check out the new images along with the poster for the France release of the movie.nullnullnullnullnullnullnullnull
