As the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day and after all of Mark Millar’s endless bullshitting, “Kick-Ass 2” is actually happening. With most of the original cast set to return — Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse — the Jeff Wadlow-helmed sequel has been busy adding actors to the ensemble and it now has a new villain in the form of Andy Nyman as The Tumor.
The villain is a part of Red Mist’s super-villain gang known, in typical Millar fashion, as The Toxic Mega-Cunts. Nyman, who you might recognize from Brit flicks like "Severance," "Death At A Funeral" and "Black Death," joins the previously announced Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Morris Chestnut and Robert Emms. No confirmation yet on Nicolas Cage's cameo, but we presume if there's a craft service vehicle, he'll be there.
“Kick-Ass 2” will start filming this fall, with a big summer release date of June 28, 2013 already on the docket. Will the R-rated followup bring the same noise as the original or offer diminished returns like "The Expendables 2," which has topped the box office with smaller numbers than its predecessor? Time will tell. Until then, with a whole bunch roles still open like Colonel Stars and big bad Mother Russia, expect to hear a lot more casting news in the upcoming weeks. [via Film School Rejects]
