Terry Gilliam Confirms The Wait For 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote' Will Be Longer Than Expected

First Ewan McGregor seemed a little doubtful, and then Robert Duvall seemed tentative but now Terry Gilliam himself has confirmed that his long-gestating “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” is going to be a bit of a way off.

Speaking at the UK premiere of “Toy Story 3,” when pressed about the film Gilliam said, “It will be a bit longer before you see it than I had planned.” Well, we sorta figured that given the caginess of his proposed leads, but with Gilliam himself confirming, it’s pretty safe to say the rumored September start isn’t going to happen.

But don’t feel too bad for Gilliam. As we reported this morning, he’s landed the gig directing the webcast of the first of two sold out shows by the Arcade Fire at Madison Square Garden, in what is undoubtedly the biggest concert of their young careers. While it’s not ‘Don Quixote,’ it does get Gilliam working on a project that’s, actually happening, and will hopefully get the creaky wheels on his feature film in motion again.
